"Ibn Battouta is I"
Description : The story revolves around learning geography and how the school teacher was able to turn his students from despising the subject into loving it. His own fondness of Ibn Battouta and several other sources, such as National Geographic magazine caused he himself to acquire a liking of the subject. The teacher was able to captivate his students when he taught them lessons through school trips and several entertaining activities (e.g. he taught them the landmarks of countries around the world by distributing souvenirs). Through his teachings they learned to read maps and measure distances, and he began to introduce them to the Atlas. The author illustrates that creativity is the basis of all science and is not limited only to inventions. Through the teacher's innovation his students have begun to embrace geography and the harmony and peace that its study brings among nations all over the world.
